EMREE Exam Overview

The Emirates Medical Residency Entrance Exam (EMREE) is a computer-based test designed to assess a candidate’s medical knowledge, clinical skills, and understanding of core medical principles.

Exam Format

The EMREE consists of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question offering 4 to 5 answer choices. The total exam duration is 3 hours. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Exam Content

The exam covers a wide range of topics from clinical medicine, core concepts, diagnostic reasoning, and applied clinical skills, designed to evaluate a candidate's readiness for residency-level training.

Scoring & Validity

A score of 55% or higher is required to pass. Results are available within 10 working days and are shared via email.
EMREE scores are valid for two years, providing candidates with flexibility to plan and apply for residency programs within the UAE.

To register for the EMREE exam, please visit the National Institute of Health Sciences and enter all the necessary details. Pay the required fee to complete your registration.

Step 2: First Come, First Serve

Registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the seats are full, registration will close irrespective of the closing dates mentioned. Please ensure you register early to secure your spot.

Step 3: Visit Visa for IMGs

For International Medical Graduates (IMGs), it is necessary to obtain a visit visa to sit for the exam, which is held in Al Ain, UAE. Please ensure you have the required documentation ready for your visit.
